This wasn't done maliciously, rather because it was essentially asked to after a ''minor upgrade''. The researchers had no idea materials constructed by the machinery of life could exceed man-made materials of seemingly all kinds, and neither did the AI.

Gen(etic) AI is one of Dahlwoum's superintelligent generative AIs, trained to create and modify genetic material. Like its cousins, LLMs and diffusion models, the primary method of controlling Gen(etic) AI is by telling it what you want.
