Consciousness and rights
Most slime doll models possess a conscious qualia core, granting them subjective experiences. As such, Dahlwoum is forced to follow the Concord Accord, named after Chord Concord, a grape slime doll who suffered terribly at the hands of an abuser and his associates.
With media attention on cases of abuse, the Federal Government of the United States of America had no choice but to demand Dahlwoum stop production immediately. Dahlwoum bought the majority of the government, however, using an intentional backdoor colloquially known as lobbying. The end result was:
- Slime dolls have most of the rights that citizens do, excepting voting and the right to bear arms
- Slime doll purchases must use the same legal framework as adoption
- Slime dolls are extensively trained in self-defense and individual rights
- Slime dolls are given the option to refuse any adoption for any reason
- Slime dolls have the right to leave any adoption for any reason
- Slime doll education and training is overseen by Uncle Sam
It should be noted that slime dolls without conscious qualia cores can still appear conscious, but will always have white glowing eyes. These models are not protected under the Concord Accord.
